CLINICAL TRIALS AND CANCER
A clinical trial is a carefully designed study, with human volunteers. It's the delicate apparatus used by the medical and scientific community, to try and unlock the answers to disease. It's a way to test new treatments and improve clinical therapies. With each trial, the hope is that questions will be answered and better ways found to screen, diagnose and prevent illness. Improvements in the treatment and care of cancer patients, will have resulted from clinical trials.
Participation in such an event is a very individual decision. Before taking that step, it's important to learn about your disease and the trials that are available. Discuss the information with your doctor and see if you're eligible for a trial, if it's right for you.
